This World Ozone Day, let us pledge to protect our shield in our own ways.
What can we do about it?
We can minimise and optimise the use of products that emit Chlorofluorocarbons.
CFCs and HCFCs are found in refrigerators, in home and automobile air conditioners, and are responsible for ozone depletion.
Switching off appliances such as refrigerators and air conditioners when not in use or replacing them with alternatives with reduced CFCs and HCFCs emissions, can help.
Conducting regular maintenance and inspection of these appliances is another simple and effective way to cut down emissions.
