Amplus has commissioned India’s largest single location Open Access solar farm of 175 MWp at Gadag, Karnataka, The Veera. Veera supplies solar power to more than 30 industrial and commercial customers using the state grid transmission system under open access route.
This project of 175 MW DC capacity spread across a span of 800 acres of agricultural land has been executed at an unparalleled speed using innovative techniques such as deployment of drones for laying the 220 KV transmission line backed by meticulous planning and solid execution, thereby setting a new benchmark in the solar industry. The Veera project has given employment to more than 1000 people and also access to better healthcare facilities, security and well-being.
The project was commissioned in 3 different Phases, In Phase 1 we targeted 60 MWp, in Phase 2 another 40 MWp was added and the final phase saw the commissioning of 75 MWp. The sheer size and magnitude of this project has put Gadag district of Karnataka on the global solar map. The project has been an important milestone in our endeavor to help our customers meet their sustainability targets.
The project Veera will be supplying clean energy to marquee fortune 500 multinational corporations such as Honda Motorcycles & Scooters, Cisco, Qualcomm, GE, Shell, Lafarge, ABB, Honeywell, Astra Zeneca which are global pioneers in their respective verticals.
